Breadth 1

This image was taken on the way up to Popa. In this image you can see two men walking along the road with buses and other vehicles in the background. The color of this picture is black and white except or the color of the shirts that the two men are wearing.
This image was taken with a high shutter speed to prevent any blurriness from the movement of the people walking. It was also increased since I was also moving when I took this picture. I chose this picture because of the way the color of the shirts were and how they both turned out to be bright and beautiful colors. I wanted to emphasize this so I photoshopped the whole picture to leave only the shirts to remain with color. I love this photo because of the memories it brings back to me plus the way the two men are placed gives movement to the picture. I want the viewer to imagine where these two men are leading them towards.
I used colors as the element of design in this artwork. As I said, the two colors are both complementary colors which makes the whole piece amazing to look at. The two colors placed also makes the viewer see the two men as the focus point of the picture which is what it should be.

In this image, you can see a girl walking down what seems to be a really steep stairway. The image was taken on the way back down from Popa in Bagan. You can also see people coming up the stairs but they're out of focus leaving the girl to be the main point of the picture.
This image was put into black and white because it added a sense of sadness to the picture. I wanted the picture to be this way because it was a sad memory of us leaving the beautiful Popa mountain and the tiredness that we were feeling then. The fact that you cannot see anyone's faces also adds to the sadness and makes the picture very mysterious.
The element of design used in this image is lines because of the way the lines of the stairs leads our eyes towards the girl. It contributes to the artwork because since the lines lead to the girl, she becomes the focus of it which is what the art piece was all about.

In this image you can see a statue of Buddha sitting as the statue faces towards the light. The picture gets brighter as you reach the right part of the image which makes it a pleasing image to look at.
This image was taken in one of the temples at Bagan and photoshop was used to bring the contrast and the brightness of both the Buddha and the light coming in from the walkways to become brighter. I wanted the focus of the picture to be the Buddha which was successful due to the way the lights were and the lines of the hallway that lead our eyes to it. I also loved the shadows and the way all the lights in the picture were turned on towards the Buddha which makes it the most beautiful aspect of the picture
An element of design I used was contrast because of the way the picture was dark on the left side but got brighter as we progressed to the right. This was used to put a focus on the Buddha and make it the most important aspect of the picture. The shadows placed behind the Buddha gives the Buddha's face an amazing and luminous glow.

In this image, you can see the pagoda placed in front of the very bright sky. This image was taken at a temple in Bagan.
Photoshop was used to bring the color of the sky out and make it bright against the pagoda. The image is also heavier on the left side of the image but the large amount of blue sky on the right side balances the picture out.
The element of design in this picture is the contrast and how the pagoda is placed against the very bright sky. This makes the pagoda the focus point of the picture and gives it a very interesting look.

Breadth 5

In this image, you can see another temple at Bagan placed against the bright sky.
The image is tilted to make the temple diagonal to balance with the empty sky. The image is also edited to make the sky much brighter to have a larger contrast between the temple and the sky.
The element of design used is balance because of the way the diagonally placed temple cancels out with the bright blue sky. The way it's balanced makes it a fuller piece and the contrast also makes it a beautiful image to look at.

Breadth 6

In this image you can see a man walking within a crowd of people towards a hallway that leads to a temple.
This image was taken in Bagan and the image was tilted with photoshop to create movement in the picture. The lines in the picture all lead towards the main temple which is in the middle of the image.
The element of design is lines which is stated before and how the lines of the bricks on the wall of the walkway lead towards the temple inside. This gives the image a push towards the eye so that we focus on the temple inside even though it's a very small part of the picture. The lines also lead towards the man which gives the image movement due to the man's position and leads us to think that he's moving towards the temple inside.

Breadth 7

In this image, you can see a candid picture of a man smiling. The picture is also black and white to create a mysterious aura to the picture and not to let the colors distract the viewer from the boy whatsoever.
The image was photoshopped to make it black and white and I used blur and replacement tools to remove any imperfections from the boy's face.
The element of design used in this picture is the rule of thirds. The picture is divided into three parts, the man behind the man in focus, the hand of the man, and the man himself.

Breadth 8

In the image you can see a man with a vaporizer in his mouth while smoke comes out of his nose. The man is also looking straight into the camera which gives the image a direct connection with the viewer.
The image was edited to bring the contrast up to brighten up the colors of the plants and trees in the background.
The element of design is balance because the man with the vaporizer is placed directly in the middle of the picture with green colors on both sides to create harmony as well.

Breadth 9

In this image, you can see a man looking out into the sunset which is filled with a skyline of pagodas and trees.
The image was photoshopped to darken the other areas of the image apart from the sunset to make the sunset a lot more beautiful with more color to make it the main focus point of the image.
The element of design in this image is contrast because of the way the color gets darker as you move down the picture. The contrast makes the sunset a really beautiful sight and the man standing and looking out leads our eyes towards the sunset as well.

In this picture, a boy and a girl stands in front of a chandelier looking at each other very intimately. Once again, the girl can be seen faded in this picture to represent the absence of her. I had to find a location with a chandelier to create a silhouette which made the image look very interesting.
When creating this picture, I had to take two separate photos with a tripod. This image was hard to take because the lights on the chandelier were moving around due to some wind that was entering the room. The two images of one with the girl and one without were inserted into photoshop to do some basic editing. There were lens flares that were occurring on the model's faces which I had to delete using the flawless face techniques. In the original photo, the boy and the girl's face cannot be seen so well due to the chandelier behind them.
Once again, I used the rule of thirds to create this image. It creates a sense of balance and harmony. It also makes the viewer's eye go right to the eyes of the models which is one of the main focal points of the picture. The piece works well together because every aspect of this image was thought out and done for a reason.

In this image, a man and a woman can be seen walking on a platform towards something we can't predict as a viewer. There are also cars on the right side with just a plain wall on the left.
This image is photoshopped to be black and white to create a more mysterious feel to it. This adds on to the many question that the picture brings up of who the couple is and where they are going.
The element of design in this image is the rule of thirds and how everything is divided into three parts of the image. The wall is on the leftmost side, the couple is right in the middle and the cars are on the right which creates a perfect harmony in the picture.

In this image, a couple stands on the side of the road waiting for a bus to come. This represents the memories that the couple has had, traveling around town. The image shows the couple but the girl is faded out of the picture, which represents her physical absence but the guy's mental need for her to be there.
To create this picture, I had to have a stable tripod to take two different pictures of the same location. One picture would include the girl while the other was taken with just the guy. When finding the location, I had to find an area where it's obvious that they are standing on the side of the road while making the platform on the other side visible to create depth in the picture.
The process to create this artwork was to wait till the sun went down to have a dark and ominous feel in the picture. Even though this could have been done in post, waiting for the perfect lighting allowed me to capture the perfect picture without much to do in basic editing. The two pictures with the absence of the girl and with the girl were inserted into Photoshop.
I created this artwork using the rule of thirds. The couple is placed exactly in the middle of the picture which creates a sense of balance and harmony to the picture. This also adds to the calm nature that the boy felt when he was at that spot with the girl. I think this element ties the whole artwork together since it doesn't create any distraction and keeps the focus on the couple instead of the other aspects in the picture.
